• TRIM THE SURFACE

• APPLY A PRIMER
• GET AN EXTENTION POLE
• FIRST PAINT THE CEILING, 
• THEN THE EDGES AND 
• AFTER THAT USE THE PAINT ROLLER FOR BIG SURFACES
• PAINT YOUR HOUSE ON DRY WEATHER
• CLEAN WHEN YOU ARE DONE

 START PAINTING FROM THE CORNERS AND EDGES

IF YOU USE TAPE FOR THE DETAILS AN EASY WAY TO TAKE IT OF IS BY USING A ΗΑΙRDRYER

OR PUT VASELINE ON AREAS YOU DON'T WANT PAINT

EVERYDAY OBJECTS CAN BE USED TO EASILY MAKE A PAINTING TECNIQUE

PAINT AREAS YOU SEE EVERY DAY (OR DETAILS) WITH BRIGHT COLORS

WHEN YOU NEED TO GO FOR A BREAK PUT YOUR PAINTING TOOLS

 IN A PLASTIC BAG OR IN A BLOWN OF WATER INSTEAD OF CLEANING THEM

REMEMBER THE NAME/CODE OF THE COLOR YOU USED AND THE DATE YOU PAINT A SURFACE 

NOTE IT DOWN ON AN UNSEEN PLACE 

Copy paste in zero time

So once again I had something broken than I wanted to fix..
This time, it was an old frame. It is not really easy to find these in Greece, nor cheap. I desided to fix the one I already had.

Βρέθηκα λοιπόν στα χέρια μου μια παλιά κορνίζα. Από αυτές τις ξύλινες με τα περίτεχνα σχέδια. Τις αγαπώ αυτές τις κορνίζες. Το θέμα είναι πως δεν βρίσκει κανείς τέτοιες κορνίζες εύκολα, πόσο μάλλον φθηνά. Για καλή μου τύχη την βρήκα τζάμπα όμως είναι φθαρμένη. Αποφάσισα λοιπόν να την φτιάξω.

The damage is obvious in the corners of the frame. The only way I had in mind in order to repear it was to make a replica.

Χρειάστηκα:

• σιλικόνη
• υγρό σαπούνι για τα χέρια
• νεράκι
• ένα μπολ/ δοχείο (όχι φαγητού!!)

 

 Υou will need: silicone, liquid soap for hands, water, bowl / container (not for food use)




 Step by step:

1. mix the  water with the soap proportion 1:10  in the bowl (for 10 part of water add 1 part of soap).
Ανακατεύουμε το νερό με το σαπούνι σε αναλογίες 1 προς 10. (1 μέρος σαπούνι 10 μέρη νερό). 

2. Add the silicone in the silicone.
Προσθέτουμε τη σιλικόνη μέσα στο νερό και αρχίζουμε να την πλάθουμε μέχρι να μην κολλάει πια η σιλικόνη στα χερια.

 3. Start to conjure it inside th water untill it is not sticky! CAREFULL! Firts get your hands wet!

ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ!! βρέξτε πρωτα τα χέρια σας

4. Aply.
CAREFULL! Shape your mold like a bowl, in order to be easyer in use for the next step!

Βάζουμε την σιλικόνη πάνω στο αντικείμενο που θέλουμε να "αντιγράψουμε" ή να καλουπώσουμε. Όταν στεγνώσει την απομακρύνουμε προσεκτικά.

5. When it is dry, remove the silicone. 

Sience you hve done Step 4 corectly, 

add plaster or clay to make the copycat. Wait for it to dry too. It wil not take long.

ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ!! Καλό θα ήταν το καλούπι που φτιάχνουμε να είναι κυρτό ώστε να μπορέσει να συγκρατήσει τον πηλό στο επόμενο βήμα.

Βάζουμε λοιπόν τον πηλό ή τον γύψο, ( ή όποιο άλλο υλικό από το οποίο θα είναι φτιαγμένο το αντίγραφο. Περιμένουμε να στεγνώσει. Δεν θα πάρει πολύ ώρα....

Χρειάστηκαμπογιά (προτίμησα το σπρέι) για να βάψω το κομμάτι ίδιο με το κάδρο. Για την ακρίβρια το έβαψα ολόκληρο ώστε να μην φαίνεται κανένα μέρος παράταιρο.

Ombre wall

This one, turned out to be harder than it looks. Well I am not an profesional painter but the result is quite amazing.

 

So lets suppose we devide the wal in 2 secctions. 

1. The upper

2. The lower 

Division: (--------)

We paint:

1=A

2=B

Now we need to bring in life the ombre technique. You'd better paint with day light cause it would be easy to see the effect while creating it.

So, in the middle were the two colors are conected and CREATE AN EXTRA STRIP.

Division:( ___ )

Use a wide bruch and immerse the one side of the bruch in color A and the other side in color B. You can also make a mix of them and use that too.

Alternatively use 2 or 3 different bruches.

DO NOT USE A LOT OF COLOR! JUST A LITTLE BIT IS ENOUGH!

YOUR BRUCH SHOULD BE DRY!

DO EACH PART SEVERAL TIMES. PAINT HORIZONTALY.

Decorative pillows (men usually hate them)

Good morning!! 

I hope you had a nice sleep!

Well my bf usually fights in his night sleep with my pillows. You see I have this pear of decorative pillows from IKEA that I use in my bed. The thing is that extra pillows take extra space! So my bf doesn't fit  in the bed.. (he is a giant).

I decide to make him a favor and HACK MY DECORATIVE PILLOWS for his benefit. The idea is to HANG them.

Since there is no seam in the point I want to sew, Ι made a small fold and put  a pin to hold the ribbon in place.

It is really handy to use plastic invisible  thread if you can find one. As you see no stitches are visible.

Prefer th use of a satín ribbon cause it is softer and looks expensive.

In the midle, I prefered to make one bow instead of two. The ribbows are crossed so they wont slip to one side or an other.
